Pearl Street Banners

In Boulder, Colorado, along the most prominent blocks of Pearl Street's pedestrian mall, there are street lamps that cyclically exhibit banners for the city of Boulder and for the University of Colorado. Each year, the university coordinates with the city of Boulder to exhibit banners starting in the fall and continuing through the winter months.

It is an opportunity for the university to highlight its accolades and values to a diverse audience of tourists, prospective students, locals, and others visiting downtown Boulder. They also serve as a visually appealing and branded backdrop to complement the Stampede, a team spirit-oriented parade down Pearl Street held every Friday before at-home football games.

While working as a senior graphic designer at the university, I had the opportunity to art direct and design a new series of banners that would be used for several years to come. I coordinated closely with university officials and the athletic department to ensure the accuracy of the displayed statistics and to gather a broad range of images representative of the university's many functions.
