BB-8 SE and Forceband Packaging

BB-8 Special Edition with Forceband featured a release of BB-8 with battle damage paint along with the Forceband, a Bluetooth enabled wrist device which allows the user to control the droid's movement with arm gestures reminiscent of one with Jedi powers. With this additional release came an updated package design featuring new art and a collectible tin in which the droid was featured.

I was responsible for the artwork lining the inner box, designed to appear as a futuristic space "crate" in which a droid like BB-8 might be shipped in the Star Wars Universe. Relying on my familiarity with the films and the look and feel of the Star Wars Universe, I created a design with vector shapes which I then brought into Cinema 4D and extruded in to 3D models with apparent depth. After rendering images of the modeled parts, I colored and textured them in Photoshop to feature realistic texture and scratches that one might expect from shipping droids from a galaxy far, far away. I also created product and packaging renders for web store images and retailer assets. This product and package was featured on shelves internationally.
